Year 1/2 News

The Years One and Two students have settled back in very smoothly to classroom learning. They are adapting well to our new hygiene routines, and learning lots.

This week we are finishing up our Reading unit on "Inferring", and will soon move on to the "Making connnections" strategy. At home, you can encourage your child to make connections between the books they read and other books, their personal experiences and facts they know about the world. In Writing, we have reviewed what makes a successful sentence and we are about to begin a unit on narratives - in particular, fairy tales. In Maths we have been learning how to read the time - this is a great skill to practise with your child at home!

Please remember to hunt for any school books or readers that may still be tucked away at home, and send them along to school. Also, please check that your child has a working pair of headphones at school for iPad use.
