School Review

Our School Review has been re-scheduled for term 3.

I'm looking forward to working with Mr Graham Broadbent from Monash University and a panel of local and regional members from within the Department of Education and Training and our community/school councillors, to review our previous four years of achievement and set our path for the next four.

All students return to On-site learning next week

We have enjoyed another successful week of re-engagement at school for our brave year 1&2 students.  They have all managed their emotions and personal challenges in amazing fashion, and I wish to acknowledge the great pre-work of our parent/carers to ensure we enjoyed the success we have.

Our year 3-6 students re-join us next week, and knowing they are also amazingly resilient, gives me no reason to think, they won't be equally as successful in re-engaging with their peers, staff and work.

Details surrounding the return to school for students, remain the same for parents and year 3-6 students.  Please have students enter & exit the grounds during the advised times and parents remain off our school grounds unless requiring administrative support, in which case, they need to go directly to the Administration Office.

Students move directly to and from classrooms to meeting points, without play-time before or after school.

We truly appreciate everyone's cooperation with this thus far.

Term 3 special events

I have no further updates to this point, with regards to forthcoming incursions, excursions, camps and events.  They are all still pending, and I intend leaving decisions as late as possible during this term, before making final decisions.  I'm sure you can all appreciate this situation, and I thank you for your patience.

The next update on restrictions, I anticipate, will enlighten us further.  This is when I will provide an update to our community.

Howe Street Crossing

We have been notified by Ross Grundell, Team Leader Parking Infrastructure and School Crossings, that from Monday 1 June 2020, the school crossing in Howe St Miners Rest will be supervised between the new hours of 8.10 - 9.10 am and 3.10 - 4.10 pm.

This arrangement will remain until the conclusion of term 2.

Please use, and encourage all students to use the crossing when ever possible.

I acknowledge the First People of the Millewa-Mallee, who are the traditional custodians of the land and waters on which I work and live, and pay my respects to the Elders of the past, present and emerging.
