The Brookside Wellbeing Team is well aware that the importance of our staff ‘s wellbeing is just as equally significant as the wellbeing of our students at Brookside. The wellbeing initiative, Cook with Me! has been a great outlet for Brookside staff to foster connection during this remote learning period through the universal language of food. Every Friday, staff are invited and encouraged to tune in through a Zoom conference to watch one of our guest chefs cook delicious and homely meals.

Apart from the entertainment it provides, the past two weeks have been successful in providing staff, not only sumptuous recipes to try at home, but also to share a meal with each other on-site during lunch times.

For our first week, our very own Raj Kandasamy (Wellbeing Team Leader) cooked his very own chicken curry recipe. The following week was followed by the school’s renowned Food Tech teacher, Sharmilee Lele, who cooked up a delightful meal that included chickpea curry, roti, rice and poori.

Due to the positive feedback, the next couple of weeks will have other limited edition guest chefs (Krisdale Martin – Krissy’s sister, and Violeta Dellidis our very own school principal!). We really encourage the staff that they continue to join our cooking adventures through this remote learning period!
