Year 7 News

Our Year 7 cohort are doing very well with remote learning. Students have taken on many new challenges with a growth-mindset. We are now communicating using numerous platforms, which has deemed successful during remote learning.

Again, thank you to all parents and guardians for your ongoing support during remote learning. We truly appreciate the time and effort your have invested, in addition, the feedback given to teachers in order for us to best support your child/children.

As we progress through the term, students may be receiving assessment tasks and tests. Please communicate to relevant teachers and Coordinators if you notice your child is finding tasks or the workload overwhelming. Teachers and Coordinators can be contacted via email, Microsoft Teams or call the front office. We are all here to support.

It’s really nice to hear that students are very excited come back to school. Knowing that there is light at the end of the tunnel, is making us all (students and staff… and I’m sure parents/guardians too), very excited to be back on campus!

Morning Circle

This week we’ve got some fun activities to help boost engagement during our early morning starts. Our Morning Circles are posted on Compass by our HG Teacher, and also available on Microsoft Teams. Students have mentioned that they like some of the different challenges and the ability to earn table points!

Try to get involved, it’s a lot of fun!

Friday Recognitions

This Term, Friday Recognitions have been posted on Compass each week. The following students have been recognised thus far. Congratulations on showing outstanding excellence and organisation.

Students’ Work

This Term, we have received some very impressive work from students cross-curricular.

Rhianne from 7B has created an insightful piece for Humanities, explaining How a Law is Made.

Well done Rhianne!

Below is a lovely selection of Art of which our Year 7s have submitted. The task required students to use traditional materials, however, some students also opted for digital editing programs. Very impressive!

Year 7 Immunisations

Due to Covid-19, we’ve had to postpone the immunisation day. However, upon our return, we have organised for Year 7 Immunisations to take place on Friday the 19th of June.

Melton City Council's immunisation team will deliver the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Secondary School Immunisation program. Year 7 students will have 2 immunisations on day 1: Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis (whooping cough)- Boostrix.

Medical documentation for consent will be distributed to students from their Home Group teacher upon their return in Term 2.

Students to bring consent form to school and give to Ms Casha. If not having immunisations done at the College, please still fill out the form and return to Ms Casha.

Day 2 of immunisations will take place on campus in early 2020, as students will need to have a gap between the dosage.

Please keep an eye on Compass over the next few days regarding immunisation day.
