The Standard you Walk Past, is the Standard you Accept.
Those who know me, know I believe in wearing uniform well and holding to a behaviour standard, even when no one is looking. That is why I appreciate the phrase above, which a former principal of mine taught me.
Since the start of the School term, I have had a ‘blitz’ on uniform, along with the teachers, to help the students see how they can improve their appearance and wear their uniform with pride. I am pleased to be able to write that there are fewer and fewer students walking down our School’s driveway each morning that need to be reminded to tuck in their shirt, adjust their tie and wear cleaned or polished black school shoes. If ever you want to check the required expectations, please see Pages 20 and 21 of the School Diary.
In a similar vein, I have also ridden the Clayton Bay bus and will ride the other buses during the coming weeks, to help our drivers enforce the standard of behaviour we expect of students at all times on all of our buses. I have enjoyed my driveway duties and school bus trips. They are another way to help me get to know this wonderful school community we call Tyndale!
Lastly, following on from my previous announcement regarding the resignation of Mrs Kylie Grivell, I am pleased to announce that Mrs Samara Carpenter has accepted my offer of a six-month contract extension, meaning she will see our Reception class through to the end of this year.
I am confident that she will continue to do a fabulous job nurturing our Reception students. Please join with me in congratulating Samara on her continuing role.
