Principal's Message

There is a very palatable shift in the air. A shift that leaves no question that the end of the year is fast approaching and the Christmas holidays are here. The days are warming, summer beckons and I find myself writing my final piece for the newsletter.

Thus, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the encouragement and support you have given me this year. It has been a joy to join the Bayside community and I am very much looking forward to continuing the journey with you next year.

As I have shared at the presentation evenings over the past weeks, I think that it has been a good year for us at the College. And my prayer is that 2020 will be another good year. It is also my hope that you be truly blessed this Christmas. Christmas is an incredible time to reconnect with family and friends as we celebrate God's greatest gift to us, His Son, Jesus Christ.

But no Christmas newsletter is complete without a good cartoon or parting poem. So let me leave you with one of my favourite Christmas poems, and a cartoon supplied by a student (who could not work out why his Dad thought it was so funny!):

Once upon a time, A long, long time ago.

Begins the story of a baby, That most of you should know.

His daddy's name was Joseph, and Mary was His mom.

This babe was very special, He was God's only Son.

Some angels came from heaven, And they began to sing.

To the shepherds in the fields below, "Glad tidings do we bring!"

A bright star lit the heavens, to light the magi's way.

To the baby in the manger, who was born on Christmas day.

And all who gathered round Him, rejoiced and praised His birth.

For the babe, the King, named Jesus, is our Saviour here on earth!

So as we celebrate Christmas with candy and presents and more. Remember we have a Savior, giving us life evermore.

Please stay safe across the break and I look forward to catching up with you in a few week's time.

Merry Christmas,

Andrew Manning

Pray for Bayside

Pray in thanks for Christmas - that Jesus humbled Himself to come to the earth, to dwell among us, and to die for our restoration.

Please pray for all our families - for safety, rest and refreshing over the summer break.

Pray in thanks for a fabulous year at Bayside - for our wonderful learning community.

Please pray for our property, maintenance and ICT teams - as everybody else takes a big break during the upcoming holidays, they are busily preparing the College for the new school year.
