Sport Report

We have had a successful end to Term 3 in Sport here at Endeavour College, with our 8/9 Div 1 Girls Netball team playing in the Grand Final against Banksia Park on Tuesday 25 September.  Congratulations to the girls for becoming the 2018 Div 1 Vista Netball Champions. The final score saw Endeavour College defeat Banksia Park 26 to 17. Thank you to Miss Facchin for coaching the team and her continued support of our Netball teams at Endeavour College.

Our recent participation in the SACSA Soccer Carnival at West Beach saw our Year 8 & 9 Boys team finish first on the day with 4 wins and a draw in the minor rounds. Endeavour then went on to defeat Sunrise in the semi-finals, and Temple Paralowie in the grand final. Thank you to Ms Salvemini for coaching the Year 8 & 9 Boys and Ms Falero for coaching the Year 8 & 9 Girls who finished equal 7th on the day. The Year 8 & 9 Girls struggled to find form up forward but managed not to concede a single goal for the day in any of their matches.  Following the Year 8 & 9 Carnival the Year 10-12 Open Boys and Girls also competed and finished 9th and 4th respectively. Thank you to Mr Crook and Ms Schlicker for their efforts coaching on the day. Congratulations to the Year 8 & 9 boys team for their achievement and all of the students who participated over the two days. Thank you to parents who came to support our students and the student helpers who helped score and run lines.

We begin Term 4 with our final SACSA Carnival for the year, which will be Volleyball, held at the ARC recreation centre on Wednesday 17 and Friday 19 October. Vista sports will also continue for middle years students with a variety of sports on offer. Signup sheets will be placed on the sports notice board for next term's competitions. We look forward to finishing the year positively in sport and wish all the students the best of luck with their studies for the remainder of the year.

Student Achievements

Recently we have had two Year 7 students compete as part of State Teams in their chosen sports.

Mitchell Llewellyn (State Cross Country)

Mitchell was chosen to be part of the State Cross Country Team that competed in the National Championships at Manley Golf Course on the Sunshine Coast. This is one of the most difficult Cross Country tracks in Australia with many students in each race unable to complete it. Mitchell and his five South Australian, 12 year old boy team mates won a team gold medal for their collective placings.

Tyson Kent (State Rugby)

Tyson competed as part of the SA Rugby Team. They played 5 games against the other states, winning against the NT in a very tough competition. Tyson scored 2 successful conversions and demonstrated his determination and commitment to the sport thought out the week.

A huge congratulations to both Tyson and Mitchell. It is great to see such successful results from many years of dedication and training.
