REMEMBRANCE DAY

On Monday 11th November Wanganui Park sent representatives to the Mooroopna and Shepparton Remembrance Day ceremonies. At Mooroopna Jailah Martin and Lara Beaton laid the wreath and at Shepparton it was Brijesh Kumar and Nathan Hobley-Gray. Back at school we conducted our own ceremony with Chloe Earle and Bailey McNab reading out excerpts of a letter written by Stan Whitford, a 3rd generation active serviceman. This letter was written as a result of a collaboration between Mr Moore’s Australians at War class and the RSL which saw some ex-servicemen and women visit the school to talk to this class about their experiences in Vietnam. Once again, the ceremony went extremely well with students displaying an excellent understanding of the importance of this commemoration.
