Retreats 2018

The first two weeks of Term 2 were filled with activities and faith opportunities for the students and staff of Year 11 2018. Each cluster attended a two-day retreat and experienced team building activities as well as many faith opportunities through prayer, liturgies, the celebration of the Eucharist, making Rosary beads and nature night walks under the stars. The retreat allowed for a time to ‘unplug’ from the ‘daily grind’ of work and studies and connect with each other.

Cluster coordinators and student leaders collaborated together to present the story of each cluster patron to their peers. As such, each student added a symbol to their cluster crosses. The cluster crosses are sacred to our Catholic belief and will be presented back to our students upon the graduation of VCE/VCAL.

We also learned about the history of Lady Northcote Recreational Camp in Glenmore during our time away from school. We were particularly fortunate in that we had both Fr Maurie Cooney and Fr Gerard Keith who celebrated Masses with the Winton and Truganini clusters during the second week of retreats. Finally, many thanks is also owed to the former students that helped out during the evening activities: Maddie, Stephanie, and Doreen. Furthermore, a huge thanks to the cluster coordinators.
