Principal's Report

From The Principal

Once again, it has been a very busy term, full of many opportunities for our students to learn and grow, both inside and outside the classroom. Term 3 ends on Friday September 21st. Students will be dismissed at 2.30 p.m. Term 4 begins on Monday October 8th.

The year is rapidly drawing to a close for students in Year 12 as they head towards their exams, which will commence at the start of November (Languages and Performance Based exams will commence earlier). It is important that students maintain their focus at this time of year, developing a systematic study timetable and making the most of the holiday period to prepare for their exams.

A PROUD DAY FOR OUR CARWATHA COMMUNITY

On Tuesday the 11th of September I was fortunate enough to attend my second multi-cultural assembly. This is an amazing event that celebrated not only the multi-cultural nature of our school, but also the cultural diversity that makes Australia such a great country. It was also very special, because it was initiated, organised and run by our students. We were entertained by some wonderful cultural dances, songs, music and recitals. It was good to see so many parents in attendance too.

There was a strong sense of respect and celebration throughout the school. The day was an excellent example of what makes Carwatha such a special place. Thank you to the secondary SRC for organising the assembly, Ms Bawa and Ms Naylor for their support, the students and staff who dressed in cultural costumes and the parents for so proudly supporting the day.

Presentation Ball

On Thursday September the 6th I had the pleasure of attending the Presentation Ball.

It was a great night with the students looking amazing and performing brilliantly in their dances.

I would like to thank Ms Marziale for leading the event and Ms Tzilantonis Ms Bawa, Ms Hudson for all the hard work they put into the event from the practices to the planning for the evening, it is an enormous amount of work. The students had a great night and it is a memory they will cherish for ever.

It is only possible through the hard work and dedication of staff that we can have these events.
