CHINESE LANGUAGE STUDIES INTRODUCED TO ST ANDREWS

It is so exciting that Chinese Language has been introduced to St Andrew this year! Students experienced and learnt some simple greetings for the Chinese New Year. If you see them around campus, don't forget to give them a big smile and friendly "Ni Hao" 你好!

MYSTERY READERS

Superheroes love reading too! The Year 1s were thrilled to have Spiderman 'swing' by to read them "The Book with No Pictures". Mystery Readers show our students that reading is an exciting, adventurous time, with so many opportunities for fun and laughter. Because as we all know, everything written on the page has to be said by the person reading it, even if the words say BLORK. Or BLUURF. Or BLAGGITY BLAGGITY and GLIBBITY GLOBBITY. Everyone had a super-fun time. Mystery Readers show that everyone who reads gets to be a Superhero.

The St Andrews Primary Sports “ Academy” is up and running for 2019 with another busy year of PE and Sport planned. Do look at all the Sport dates on the school website and follow your regular update e-mails that contain all the information you need about Clubs, teams and sports carnivals.

YEAR 2's DISCOVER AUSTRALIAN INDIGENOUS ART

On Friday March 1st the Year 2's visited NGV for an introduction to traditional and contemporary Australian indigenous art. They were given a wonderful guided tour and lecture about the amazing culture and concepts that inspired the unique style of art. After an awesome tour we braved the heat and walked to the Oak lawn at the Botanic gardens. Under the cool shade of magnificent oak trees the Year 2's created some beautiful artwork of their own. It was a fantastic day enjoyed by everyone. Well done Year 2's!
