Federation Cup Debating
Last night saw the culmination of the 2019 Federation Cup Debating competition between Calrossy, McCarthy and Farrer. The competition has been a feature within term one for the last seven years and this year saw Calrossy narrowly defeated by McCarthy by 1 point for the overall champion school. However, across all stages of the competition our Girls and Boys teams saw success within the different rounds of the competition.
A particular highlight of the competition was seeing the Stage 6 Boys team, who have been involved in the competition from early in its inception, remaining unbeaten in every round to triumph as the winner of the hotly contested stage 6 competition. Additionally, our stage 4 girls were undefeated and we look forward to them continuing in the footsteps of the senior teams. Overall our stage 4 and 5 teams and Stage 6 girls all took part in fiercely contested topics ranging from the environment and politics to current social concerns throughout the competition. The dedication and hard work of all students is commended and we look forward to continuing our involvement in the competition into the further.
