Water Polo

The Tamworth Water Polo season is drawing to a close with finals being contested. All of our teams qualifie for the finals with Calrossy 7 being beaten in the Major Semi Final and Calrossy 8 winning their Minor Semi Final in the C Grade completion. This has brought our two teams together to play the final with the winner progressing to the Grand Final on Saturday, 30 March.

Our two B Grade teams, Calrossy Marlins and Stingrays played in the B Grade Minor Semi Final. After an epic struggle the game was drawn at fulltime, with a penalty shoot out to determine the winner. After being drawn at the completion of the shoot out, a sudden death shoot out commenced, with Jessica Froud finally breaking the deadlock for the Calrossy Marlins.

Our Calrossy 8 has qualified to contest the C Grade Grand Final on Saturday, 30 March.

Rugby Union

Calrossy Anglican School is excited to announce a new partnership with Northern Suburbs Rugby that will offer new opportunities and pathways to the School’s men and women’s rugby programs.

After discussions between Calrossy and Norths Rugby Head Coach, Nick Hensley, it was clear that the School and Norths Rugby were aligned in values, with the rugby club deciding it wanted to offer opportunities and pathways to Calrossy’s rugby students. It will mean Norths Rugby will give Calrossy access to its Colts Programs and offer several at-home training sessions throughout the year, as well as a Sydney club visit.

Training began on Saturday 23 March at the Pirates Ground with Norths Skills coach, Nick Marshall, current Norths players, ex-Calrossy student, Henry Cameron and ex Waratah 2018, Nick Palmer, in attendance.

Norths have said the relationship will also be focused on ensuring that there is a clear pathway for any players – both young men or women, who move to Sydney from Calrossy and wants to be the best player and person they can be.

It comes after Calrossy introduced their first teams in the girls Rugby competition in 2017, playing all three grand finals (Under 14, 16 and Open) winning the Under 16’s. In 2018, Calrossy had 80 girls playing the game with grand final success in both the under 16 and Open competitions.

Training for all teams will continue or commence in the coming weeks.

Team App

Calrossy Team app has been a valuable source of communication for parents, players and coaches. With the introduction of  The HUB in 2019, there is no longer a need for Calrossy to use Team App. Therefore, as of the beginning of Term 2, we will be closing Calrossy Team App.  All sporting information and notifications will be done via The HUB. Please ensure that you join the specific sports your child or children are playing, as this will allow you to receive all of the published information.
