Positive Climate for Learning

5-6 Learning Community 

As children grow and develop, all students will encounter situations where they feel worried, nervous and sometimes even scared. Students deal with the demands on them by drawing on a range of coping strategies.

 

As part of our Positive Climate for Learning the 5-6  students have focused on a range of strategies and positive coping skills for managing negative thoughts, emotions and events.  

 

Students have participated in activities providing opportunities for them to develop and practice a variety of skills including mindfulness, fixed and growth mindset in addition to positive self-talk to support them to cope with current and future changes and challenges.

 

These strategies can be learnt or strengthened through practice; 5-6 students have participated in a number of activities to support the development of these skills.
