Year 10 Fauna Park Excursion

Year 10 Global & Environmental Challenges Class

On Tuesday 22nd of March, the Year 10 Global & Environmental Challenges class went on an excursion to the Kyabram Fauna Park. Arriving there in the late morning, we were welcomed by a staff member who took us through a range of activities such as petting a Squirrel Glider, more commonly known as a Sugar Glider, named Wattle and learned about how these gliders are becoming endangered and what we can do help them.

We then visited the park's wetlands where we learned about the native birds and other wildlife that rely on wetlands for their survival.

After lunch and went for a walk around the park in search of different animals. We were able to see such a variety of diverse animals and reptiles such as dingoes, cassowaries, emus, wombats, koalas, flying foxes, snakes and a massive lace monitor. Even interacting with a cockatoo who tried to eat a student’s workbook. Overall, everyone enjoyed the day out and we learnt numerous things about our native animals and their natural habitats.
