Term 1 Week 11

Feature News : Physical Education

Wow, what a big term!

The growth and development across all year levels this term has been incredible. Students have worked really hard on increasing their fitness, building stamina and extending physical skills. The junior school focused on Locomotor Skill and Object Control Skill Units, with a significant improvement in catching and throwing skills, as well as performing fundamental movement skills in a variety of movement sequences. The senior school focused on Modified Games and Net/Wall Skill Units, including tennis, volleyball and newcombe. Students also developed and extended essential skills used in all units, such as teamwork, working in pairs, communication skills, listening skills and fairplay.

What to look forward to in Term 2?:

  • Term 2 will be another big term, filled with AFL clinics, Junior Cross Country, Senior Cross Country and Hockey Victoria clinics.
  • I will be joined by Patrick Naismith from SEDA College every Tuesday in Term 2. He will be undertaking work placement and will be a wonderful addition to the Tuesday classes.
  • The units explored for Term 2 are:
    • Foundation - Non Locomotor Skills Unit
    • Year 1/2 - Minor Games Unit
    • Year 3/4 - Modified Games Unit
    • Year 5/6 - Invasion Sports Unit

Thank you and Terima Kasih to all students, staff and the community for being part of a memorable term!

I hope everyone has a delightful break in the holidays. Don't forget to keep active!
