Congratulations to Blake, Billy and Zack who participated in the Montrose District Tennis Competition on Wednesday 6th April. All boys played extremely well, demonstrating good skills and fair play. Well done!
On Monday 2nd May, 20 girls from Grade 5 & 6 participated in the Yarra Division Girls AFL Gala Day at Pinks Reserve. After a first-round loss, the girls bounced back and won their next four games, finishing first in their pool and making it through to the semi-finals. Narrowly losing in the final seconds of the game, the girls finished the day in 3rd position, out of 13 schools. What a fantastic achievement!
The girls all showed true Rolling Hills spirit throughout the day, encouraging each other and modelling outstanding sportsmanship. There were some great kicks, marks and tackles on show too! Thanks to Mr. V for coaching the girls and to the parents and families who were able to drop in and support the team.
Congratulations to all students in Prep – Grade 6 who participated in our House Cross Country Carnival on Tuesday 3rd May. We couldn’t have asked for better weather and all runners did an amazing job! The winning House will be announced at next week’s assembly.
Thank you to our parent helpers: Hayley, Catherine, Eric, Racquel, Bianca, Amy, Kym, Sian and Sher. The morning ran very smoothly with your expertise and assistance!
A special congratulations to the top 10 place getters in the 9/10, 11 and 12/13 age groups who will represent Rolling Hills at the District Cross Country. This will be held at Lillydale Lake on Friday 20th May.
Over the past fortnight, our Prep students have participated in activities practising the following skills: eye tracking, balance, hand-eye coordination, jumping, throwing, rolling and hopping. A big thank you to our Grade 5/6 students, who continue to show great leadership and enthusiasm whilst assisting with these sessions.
After a very successful Term 1, our Grade 5/6 students are very excited to begin training for the Winter Sports Round Robin Day. This will be held on Friday 10th June. We will have 8 teams participating across four different sports: 1 x AFL team, 4 x netball teams, 2 x soccer teams and 1 x T-Ball team. Once venues are confirmed, more information will be posted on Compass. We will require helpers on this day, to support each of our 8 teams. Please contact me via Compass or email (melanie.layton@education.vic.gov.au) if you are able to help with your child’s team.
