a word from leadership

Sports Day

Last week's Sports Day brought fun and challenge. Thank you to the community for coming and supporting the children. The friendly rivalry and competition the day brings is great fun. It generates nervous energy, teamwork and a desire to do one’s best. But at the end of the day, it really is about how you play the game that’s important and our students on the whole, ‘played the game’ sensationally.

Sincere thanks to all of those who contributed to a special day.

  • House Captains for their leadership and attention to detail
  • Laila for her wonderful performance of the Australian National Anthem during the opening ceremony
  • Mr. Wain for his detailed organisation of the event
  • The staff who contributed on the planning committee
  • Mrs. Leske for organising our canteen
  • Mr. Barrett for presenting spectacular grounds and facilities
  • Staff who all arrived early to ensure all was in readiness before the children arrived
  • Every parent and friend who took time to add to the atmosphere and colour of the day

Our scoring system for the day is focused on valuing the participation and efforts of every child.  Scores are aggregated so that the imbalance of team numbers that occurs in some classes is accounted for.

Congratulations to Kelly for winning the day, a well-deserved win! Montague and Nelson tied for second place.
