From our Leadership Team.

Dear CJC community,

Our Year 5 and 6 students have returned safe and happy from their camp at Marysville. They all had a wonderful time and we expect they will have a lot to tell you over the weekend.

An enormous thank you to our staff and our parent volunteer, Ryan Woodger, for without whom we would not be able to hold such events.

We will be holding a 2023 BYODD (Bring your own designated device) Parent Info Night for 2023 Year 3 and 4 students on Wednesday 5th October 2022 at 6.30pm.  2023 Year 3 and 4 parents, please save the date. It will be held in the Senior Learning Centre.

Some reminders for next week…

Term 3 will conclude for our students on Thursday, September 15th at 3.30 pm.

Term 4 will begin on Monday, October 3rd at 9.00 am.

Friday, September 16th is a student free day. Staff are attending a Professional Practice Day (PPD) that is allocated to them as part of their workplace arrangements. These days are different to curriculum days. TeamKids will operate a long day program on this day and you can access the details on their website. https://teamkids.com.au/venues/caulfield-junior-college-oshc/

We have a guest Speaker, Emmanuel Jal, attending a special assembly next Monday from 2.00pm until 3.30pm.  Emmanuel Jal is a former child soldier from South Sudan turned internationally acclaimed recording artist and activist. Emmanuel will introduce himself through a compelling keynote presentation alongside his spoken word and music which will be used as a powerful address in our school's special assembly.  https://www.emmanueljal.com/

Please remember to respond to the 2022 DET Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies. This year, we sent the survey to every family instead of a small random selection. Thank you to the families who have already responded. Please contact the school on caulfield.jr.co@education.vic.gov.au if you wish to have the details resent to your email address. The survey closes next Friday, 16th September.

The  Year 5 and 6 students will attend the “Mad about Science” incursion next Monday and Tuesday.

Thank you to Miss. Triscari who has organised AFL clinics for next week. Year Prep to Year 2 on Wednesday and Years 3 to 6 on Thursday.   Footy colours day is on the Thursday.  Please dress in your team’s colours and remember to bring a gold coin donation. The SRC have organised a fund raiser to go towards raising the height of the fence behind the footy goal posts.
