Principal Christmas message
Each year, I reflect on the year that was, share gratitude for all that was accomplished and wish a festive season to us all.
We have incredible connections with all the students at CSPS. We unapologetically love our kids; we use the word ‘our’ with intent. We greet you in the morning with smiles, laughter and singing. We use secret handshakes and salutes, share cuddly hugs, have special nicknames and give high fives. We thoroughly enjoy watching the avid readers and the sports people shine. We are there for each other through fires, floods, joys and sorrow. We watch in awe the strength of character and the determination you show. We laugh and cry with you because that is what family does.
We hope that your 2022 Christmas is joyously beautiful and beyond wonderful.
Merry Christmas.
Monique and Karen
On Thursday 8th December CSPS celebrated 2022 in style in the new building at CSPS.
It had been a long time in the design and construction of the building, but we finally achieved.
Throughout this process, we discussed a great many things relative to this building; position, style, materials… the list goes on and on.
But one element ingrained is the importance of what this building symbolised.
Through parent, student and staff focus groups the overarching themes that ran through was heart, spirit and family.
I thank the School Council President, led by Jodi Price, for the seven years of service, six as President.
Jodi has been a significant support in the Capital Works journey of which I and our school are indebted.
The evening reinvigorated our classic Graduation experience where family members mingled and enjoyed the celebration.
A huge thank you to the staff and Graduation Committee for their perseverance throughout the year, dedication and commitment in providing an event that was special and memorable.
As a Principal, I could not have been prouder of how the students have risen and thrived throughout 2022.

Unexplained Absence Letters
This week families may have received unexplained absence letters for Term 1 - Term 4 inclusively. These are sent home when a student has unexplained absences on their attendance record.
Thank you to the families who have signed and returned these so far.
If you have not already done so, please acknowledge these dates and return the letter to allow the Attendance Team to update the student file.
To avoid receiving these letters we ask that families enter an absence note when students are not present, or follow the link when they receive an attendance text.
We thank you for your support in following DET attendance requirements.
Excursions & Incursions
In relation to excursions/incursions, we are unable to accept late requests.
Numbers of students, staff, ratio, bus bookings and individual elements specific to the excursion/incursion are required within a timeline.
Families contacting the school to express their disappointment, sadness, frustration and sometimes anger with missing a timeline, is unnerving for both the parent and the staff member spoken to.
COMPASS is the CSPS communication tool that parents and carers are responsible to keep a track of.
Numerous posts, including access to the school events calendar, are repeatedly posted over a period of time.
Moving into 2023, it is essential that we all understand that processes and timeline are met.
We have fun meetings @CSPS
Smudge, CSPS support dog, attended our monthly Finance meeting 241122. He provided some valuable input, especially in relation to increasing the budget for dog treats.
