Meet the Staff- Adam Rankin
What is your role at Concord School?
I am the tutor for the Tutor Learning Initiative Program here at Concord, and currently work with the Upper Primary, 7/8, and 9/10 sections. I also teach the awesome 7/8G on Fridays as well.
Provide us with a ‘snapshot’ into your daily routine at Concord School:
I work with small groups of students throughout the day, focusing on decoding in reading. In Upper Primary, we use the Little Learners Love Literacy program, while in 7/8 and 9/10, we use the Sounds-Write program. Most days I drive home sounding out the number plates of cars I see.
What do you love most about working at Concord School?
Seeing students build confidence and building a positive attitude towards their reading and writing. The best part is seeing students having a go and surprising themselves with what they know!
Favourite Food: Chocolate.
Favourite Movie/TV Show: Into The Wild for movie, Twin Peaks for TV show.
Favourite music: Anything that involves Trent Reznor. He’s a musical genius!
Things I dislike the most: That feeling when you feel like you’ve forgotten something but you can’t remember what exactly.
Hidden Talent or Something We May Not Know About You: I’m an avid vinyl collector.
Favourite Sporting Team/Athlete: Collingwood Magpies in AFL. Favourite athlete though is Oleksii Novikov, a Ukrainian Strongman Competitor. He is inspirational!
If You Could Pick Any 3 People as Dinner Guests, Who Would They Be and Why?
Trent Reznor, Oleksii Novikov, and Robyn.
