Congrats Elspeth Goldzieher-Parkin Yr 11.

Elspeth Goldzieher-Parkin has won a Sydney Theatre Company scholarship to travel to Sydney and to work with the prestigious STC as part of a work experience program. This is very good news for Elsie, for ASC. and for Drama. Elsie’s application which included a short video on why she would like to work with STC, gained her this award. She will complete this work early Term 4. We wish her all the best.


Congratulations to the ASC Chess team and their coach Mr Bartlett who won some big matches last week! On Thursday they beat Narrabri HS to become the North West Regional Champions and then on Friday they won their semi final heat for the Sydney Academy of Chess Interschool competition. Way to go team

CALEB BETTISON NSWCHSSA ATHLETICS

At the NSWCHSSA Athletics, Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre we proudly congratulate Caleb Bettison who won the bronze medal in the 3000m event. 

He also won a silver medal in the 2000m steeple chase.

Combined High School Hockey

ASC wish our open boys hockey team the very best they are competing in Newcastle playing against Merewether High School. 

Our students made it through to the 16 teams in the state

Congratulation to Armidale Secondary College students Micah Lay and Sophie Parsons who were selected in the Open North West Cricket sides. In term 4 they will participate in a four day carnival at Kingscliff for the girls and Maitland for the boys. Good luck to both students.


Jessica Ferris and Jarryd Cutmore for the NSW Public Schools Aboriginal Dance Company who performed at the State Dance Festival. They performed "Shields" and "Spinifex" from 'Terrain' choreographed by Frances Rings, Associate Director for the Bangarra Dance Theatre. Their tutors are Sidney Salter, Sani Townson, Amberlily Gordon and Mitchell Harrison-Currie. Both Jarryd and Jess performed brilliantly demonstrating outstanding leadership skills as well. Jarryd also had a solo. A big thank you to Tash Griffiths and Hilary Pearson for supporting them.


Saturday netball 

Our ASC year 7 team Blaze was undefeated throughout the season but and came runners up in the grand final. The other 2 ASC teams Storm and Heat made the finals in the top two divisions.

A bid thank you to all the parents, friends and coaches who supported the teams throughout the year.


Netball NSW Cup. Congratulations to our Year 8 Boys netball team who with 4 big wins of 20-2, 22-3, 18-5 and 15-10 at the regional finals are through to the State Finals at Netball Central at Sydney Olympic Park in November. TheYear 9/10 girls also had some big wins in the regional final but narrowly missed out on making it to Sydney.
