BOOK DAY CELEBRATION - Miss Paula and the Curriculum Leaders

On Wednesday 24th August we celebrated Book Week by coming to school in our pyjamas and bringing along our teddies and our favourite books. Even the teachers wore their pyjamas! We had so much fun in our multi-age groupings rotating through three different activities led by our amazingly talented teachers. We did things like blowing bubbles, making collages, creating our own characters and bookmarks. We were able to use different  materials such as plasticine, tissue paper, cellophane, cardboard and colouring materials. The best part was that we got to work together in our special groupings made up of students from Foundation to Year 6. We had some really creative learning experiences involving cutting, glueing, tearing, colouring, moulding and blowing. All this helped us to be inventive and adaptive.

Special thanks to the ‘Secret Guests’ who made announcements over the PA to move us from one rotation to another - first we had Professor Albus Dumbledore from Harry Potter, followed by The Cat in the Hat and lastly Mrs Trunchball from Matilda. Hearing these characters speaking over the PA brought much excitement to all of us! I think they all jumped out of the books that Miss Erica had on display.
