Grade 5/6

What is happening around Grade 56?

The grade 56 students have been learning about animals and their biomes. They have researched to see if they are endangered or threatened, what they eat, where they can be found and what is a threat to them. After researching the animals they then created posters, web pages, booklets and power point presentations to show what they had learnt. They then created a dioramas of their animal in its environment. We then showcased their great work with a corridor walk. The students set up their work on the deck around the building and the other classes from around the school came and had a look. The grade 5/6s answered questions about their animals.

Athletics

While it was wet we had a great time working through each of the events. These included discus, shot put, 100, 200 and 800 m runs, Long jump and triple jump and hurdles. We loved that the sun came out at the end of the day. The students created some of their own running races and had fun while we waited for the bus. Once we got back to school we had a quiet afternoon - as everyone's energy levels were depleted.
