Extracurricular Activities & Community Announcements

Thanks to grants from our wonderful Community Bank Warrandyte and Manningham Council, Riverflow Peace at Warrandyte Uniting Church is leading a program around raingardens and caring for our earth.

A feature of this program is the design and construction of a raingarden on the church grounds to divert and treat rainfall runoff from across the site as an example of what we can do in our own backyards.

The project has so many ways the community can be involved (all ages and abilities) including painting stones for the dry creek bed, learning about raingardens, propagating local plants, Indigenous landcare, peace pole painting, art therapy, eco innovation competitions, eco play sessions for kids and more.

We’ll be hearing from experts about frogs, the Yarra and how we can do our bit for the planet in our own backyards.

Local schools and preschools are already involved, but if you have a group who’d like to join in, see contact details below.
