Friday Community Mass

What a fabulous turnout for the final two Year 8 groups, PCG 8.7 and PCG 8.8.  Thank you to our readers, the EMHC and our mix of students as Altar Servers, and especially our staff and parents who always support our students in the faith journey at TC.

Year 8 Quest Retreat

Last Friday, 26 August the Year 8s gathered to take part in an abridged version of the annual Quest Retreat which was postponed from April. This retreat is led by a group of approximately 60 Year 11 Peer Ministers who are in turn trained by a group of 25 Year 12 Cadre. The retreat focuses on building relationships between the cohorts and reflecting on the impact of their families and God in their lives.

The cohorts met in the Foley Centre to meet their small groups and partake in some icebreaker activities before joining for Mass in the Chapel to celebrate the Eucharist. The Year 11 Peer Minister’s then separated off with their small groups and led them in some sessions of reflection. After the small group sessions, the Year 8s, Peer Ministers and Cadre regathered to share moments of God in their lives. To conclude the Cadre led all the students in a rumble and some war TC cries to build the bonds of brotherhood that exist at Trinity.

A huge thank you must be extended to the Year 11 and 12 students who, not only gave up their Friday afternoon, but also participated in several training sessions in preparation of this retreat. I would also like to acknowledge the efforts of Mr. Byrne, Mrs. West and Mr. Miskiewicz in supervising and preparing the students for this enjoyable afternoon.

Miss Claire Wilson

P.S A massive thanks to Claire Wilson who put together a revised programme following the earlier postponement of Quest.
