Biggest Morning Tea

V-Industries host ESC’s Biggest Morning Tea

This term we have seen some amazing work being completed by the VCAL students. It has been a pleasure watching all their hard work come together as they were given the opportunity to showcase their employability skills and work cohesively in a team to complete a complex work-related activity.  As a group 11V came together to form a company called V-Industries. Their dedication to their studies is something to be admired. They demonstrated their ability to organise a successful fundraising activity. Well done 11V. A massive thank you to our staff. Without you, this event would not have been a success.

A reflection from 11V students . . .

We decided that our complex work-related activity would be to host the Biggest Morning Tea, on site at Epping Secondary College, to raise funds for the Cancer Council. 

We asked teachers to donate baked goods which we then packaged up into take away boxes and sold back to them. Our goal was to raise $500 for the Cancer Council. The teachers were amazing and helped us to smash this out of the park! We are so happy to share with you all our final tally: 

WE SUCCESSFULLY RAISED $885.30

These funds will be passed on to the Cancer Council and used to help provide training to leaders of cancer support groups so they can offer emotional and practical support to those impacted by cancer.

I had a good time working with my friends to come together and make a fun group activity to present to the teachers. I enjoyed going around informing teachers of the biggest morning tea and what it is all about. Noah 11V

I am really proud on the way we did it and how fast it came around. The build-up was slow but on the day it was so fast because we were in such a rush in the moment. I'm so proud of 11v and hopefully can do it next year! Riley 11V
