Vincent Kheim – Year 12, Banksia Campus studying Certificate III in Electrotechnoloy work with OAM Electrics

Vincent was successfully completing a VCE qualification in Year 11 but elected to move into a VCAL HEADSTART Pathway in Year 12 as he had one career pathway in mind and that was always to become an Electrician. His VCE credits proved to be valuable as he transitioned into VCAL and meant that he could complete workplace trials with prospective employers, whilst commencing his Cert II in Electrotechnology as his VET program. He worked with a solar company then moved onto a workplace trial with a general electrician and decided that was the type of work that suited him best. The company owners at OAM Electrics were very impressed with Vincent’s maturity and ability to retain information. Vincent was offered him an apprenticeship which he commenced on 30th August. Well done Vincent this is a wonderful pathway for you step into as you complete your schooling and transition to full time work.
