Assistant Principals News

Dear Parents,

We are so pleased to be able to share the final week of term with our students onsite. While we have had the necessary restrictions in place, we have still had an action packed week at the College.

Year 12 have had a fantastic final week at school. The joy they felt at returning to our College campus was extremely evident. Students were able to share their final Homerooms together today and spend their Academic Pastoral Care session sharing memories, laughing and enjoying each other's company. Our thanks go to Mr Morris for his tireless work in supporting and shaping this Year 12 group through the rigours of study, their development as individuals and ability to endure hardship with resilience and empathy.

The Homeroom team has supported and guided this year's group with Mr Segrave, Mrs Aventi and Mr Gibbs sharing the students' journey with them since they commenced at Marian in 2016. We look forward to celebrating Year 12’s final assembly in Term 4 and once again having the opportunity to share Mass together as a cohort.

Also, earlier this week Year 12 Final Reports were released to parents. Parents and students can click on the ‘View Academic Reports’ link under the Student Dashboard Profile or click on the ‘Reports’ tab from the Student’s Profile, and then ‘Year 12 Semester Two Reports’. This will download a PDF of the report.

For each subject, teachers have reported on:

• Commitment to Learning

• Trial Exam Rank

• Trial Exam Mark

• Final Assessment Rank

• Commendations and Recommendations

For VET subjects teachers have reported on:

• Commitment to Learning

• Trial Exam Mark

• VET Competencies

• Commendations and Recommendations

We encourage all parents to have conversations with their children about what they have done well, what they need to improve, how they can do this and how they can support their children. Students should also take note of recommendations made by teachers to effectively prepare for the HSC Exams.

I am pleased to say that Year 11 students have successfully completed their assessment/examination week online at home. While it would have been ideal to have Year 11 onsite this week, the arrangements in completing online examinations at home have given students some valuable practise in completing tasks under timed conditions.

We hope Year 11 have a restful break ready to start their HSC Course in Term 4.

We hope that you are able to have a restful holiday break. Please remember that no students can return if they have entered into lockdown areas. We look forward to seeing all of our students on Wednesday 6th of October.

Yours in Learning
