Year 10 Drawing and Sculpture
by Mercedes Docanto, Year 10
This term in Drawing and Sculpture we applied our drawing skills and undertook a mash-up drawing challenge. We researched two different artworks from the National Gallery of Victoria and designed and composed a new artwork incorporating elements from both artworks which included our own creative spin. This mash-up drawing was a challenge and tested our artistic skills. It was a fun and engaging challenge.
by Mia Perfetto, Year 10
This term in drawing and sculpture I have had an amazing time, We started off by doing our reclaimed sculpture task but could not start making them due to lockdown, Instead we went on with our drawing task, We ended up designing and making a mash up drawing. I very much enjoyed this task because I got to be creative and have some fun with it.
Visual Communication Design
Design Elements and Principals
For Unit 1, Outcome 2, the talented Year 11 VCD students studied the 16 design elements and principles. They experimented with the elements and principles, using manual and digital drawing methods to visualise ideas and develop concepts to answer a Brief. The Brief required the students to design a set of four promotional postcards for the ‘Fitzroy Nursery’. The postcards were to promote the opening of a new fruit and vegetable section for the nursery. The students used the design process and the software Adobe Illustrator to complete their final presentations.

During Lockdown #6 for the Year 10 elective, Photography and Film, students made a 60 sec short film on the theme, Chasing Happiness.
