Design and Technologies

Design and Technologies Week

We have had many students come and partake in all the activities during Design and Technologies Week.  Our student leaders have been busy setting up and running the lunch time events.

The Trivia Day came to a three-way tie and we were forced to set up an elimination round.  Acquline Makwara was victorious in taking away the prize this year.  In the Textiles area, a Sock Dyeing Workshop was set up. Liquid Radiance is a wonderful colour product that makes the dyeing process very simple. Students and teachers got creative mixing colours and mastering the folding technique.

In the Food Technology area students had the opportunity to decorate and create colourful and clever cup-cakes that reflected their Bridgidine dress up themes. The activity was honoured with a student led cheer squad and the student judging team had a tough job selecting the winner on the day.

The week’s activities was finished with our inaugural Senses Showdown.  House teams were challenged to a blindfold tasting test.  Student teams quickly learnt that when you close one sense down our other senses become skewed.

Congratulations to Kildare House for outlasting all the other teams in the blind taste test.
