Music Camp

On 5 September, 50 music students travelled to Safety Beach to take part in the two-day annual Music Camp. We rehearsed for five long hours a day, workshopping and rehearsing our band pieces ready for the ‘Spring Soirée’, which was a great success.

While on camp, students were also given access to the new rehearsal spaces in their free time, which resulted in the senior students composing the highly requested ‘lemon song’ while the Year 9's wrote a funny song about their cabin.

After the long days of rehearsals we were able to show each other our hard work in a camp concert. Everyone could hear how each band had improved over the rehearsals and it was amazing to see the difference only a couple days practice could make!

Overall, it was a great experience that was highly beneficial and allowed students across year levels to form bonds over their love of music.

Special thanks to Ms Holden and Jemma Law for organising the camp, Bec Ford for running the Middle and Junior Orchestras, Victoria Landy for conducting the Symphonic Orchestra and Flute Ensemble, Ms Elton for running Strings Ensemble and participating in the Middle Orchestra, Ms Devlin for her involvement with the Symphonic Orchestra and the band and Mr Beirne for volunteering his time. All the teachers' hard work was much appreciated.

Spring Soirée

The Spring Soirée, our second Performing Arts concert for the year, was another wonderful celebration of the diverse talents of our students and an opportunity to see the remarkable progress made by our bands and ensembles over the recent two-day music camp at Don Bosco.

Congratulations to all students, instrumental music teachers and Performing Arts staff who contributed in making this event such a fabulous success.
