Year 9 News

Maddy McQueen & Joanne Merryfull | Year 9 Coordinators

Well done on starting the year out so well year 9s! You have all transitioned well into your classes, and have embraced the N wing as your own. We have had an abundance of positive messages with how you have all started and adjusted to this new school year.

A few reminders for students:

  • Getting to class/ form group on time. Although it is a bit of a walk over from the lockers to the N wing, it is really important that all students are getting to their classes on time so they don’t miss any important information.
  • Keeping the locker area safe and tidy: it is very cramped in there at the moment due to the work being done on the gym roof, so please be mindful about personal space and being responsible for your rubbish.
  • Morrisby Testing: some students are yet to complete this testing. Please make sure you do so as soon as possible as it is a really positive way for you to start looking at future possibilities in terms of careers and pathways.

Overall, a fantastic start to the year for our Year 9s, so well and keep it up!

Lockers

All Year 9 students are required to have a lock on their locker. Please make sure that if your child does not have a lock that you send one with them to school.

Timetable Changes for Semester 1

All students have been asked to familiarise themselves with their new timetables for Semester 1.

Uniform

Students need to be in full school uniform. A reminder that the old blue polo shirts are no longer allowed. Students are allowed to wear their PE shirt as a part of their everyday uniform this year. We would advise students to purchase a separate PE shirt so they can still have a change of shirt for hygiene purposes.

Hats

As we are in Term 1 – this means that all students are required to be wearing their Horsham College school hat when they are outside at recess and lunch, as well as in their PE classes. If your child does not have a hat, a new hat can be purchased from Earles in Horsham.
