Banksia House

Welcome back to Banksia House and the new school year!  It has been wonderful to see all our students return to school happy, ready to learn, and connect with each other. 

We have several new staff and students joining us in Banksia House and we warmly welcome them to our DHS community. We also have a new member to our House Leadership Team, I would like to formally welcome Troy White, as our Student Engagement Coordinator. We are excited to see the learnings and opportunities all our new staff and students will bring to our school. 

We welcomed our new Year 7 students and families to Banksia House. The students in B7 are extremely happy and kind, willing to lean and wanting to always do their best.  They have many interests and their teachers have been impressed with the way they have started the year. We are looking forward to meeting with all our new families at the Welcome Picnic on Wednesday, 22nd February from 4:30 – 6pm.   

Our students have been sharing their strengths and values with each other and have displayed these proudly. The students value family, friendship, and their education to name a few. 

We are looking forward to announcing the successful Student Representative Council for Banksia 2023.  They will join Omid H and Ava Z as our Year 12 House Captains.  We also congratulate Rachael B, a wonderful member of our Leadership Team in Banksia and one of the 2023 School Captains. 

Congratulations to our Student of the Week recipients so far: Zanoon K and Mico R. There have been many green compass posts showing the focus on learning across the House.  I am extremely proud of all our students and know that together we will support each other and have a happy, safe, and successful school year.
