School for Student Leadership

Gnurad Gundidj Campus

We have a number of students each year selected to join the School for Student Leadership, an immersive state-wide residential program for Year 9 Government school students which enables them to grow into better citizens and leaders through increased self-awareness, social engagement, community connection and environmental stewardship.

The program aims to provide experiential education that supports personal growth, aspiration, and transformation of all students as global citizens.

This year our students, Eli, Sam, Aphra, Cora, Cosmos and Seb are at the Gnurad Gundidj campus in the Western District and have recently had a great couple of days canoeing, hiking and exploring along Great Ocean Road between Princetown and Port Campbell.

Day One was a canoe along the Gellibrand River at Princetown followed by an afternoon hike along a section of the Great Ocean Walk before setting up camp at the Princetown Recreation Reserve for the night. On Day Two we explore between Princetown and Port Campbell, stopping to see the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge before cooling off with a swim and lunch at Port Campbell. The whole team did a great job coming together, offering each other support and sharing in lots of laughs and fun throughout Expo..
