Uniform

Thank you to students for a really positive and settled start to the school year. It is fantastic to see the Friends’ uniform, including the new Leavers’ Tops, being worn with pride. Unfortunately there is a misunderstanding around footwear amongst some students. The uniform policy requires white socks with sports uniform and white, grey or navy blue socks with formal uniform. Blundstones and high top shoes are not acceptable footwear items.

We appreciate the support of parents in ensuring uniform expectations are followed.

Careers & Pathways Support

Trish Menadue and Pete Gibson are our new Careers and Pathways Advisors. They are here to help students and families explore decisions related to life after Friends' - whether that be work, further study, training, a gap year or other.

Students have access to our new Careers & Pathways at Friends’ website. This site provides students with access to:

  • A fortnightly newsletter providing news and information of upcoming career-related workshops/activities/events/deadlines
  • A Pathways planning calendar highlighting key dates for both school and external careers/pathway related activities. There will be opportunities to hear from representatives from The University of Tasmania, major mainland universities, Volunteer Gap/Exchange Organisations and industry representatives who will visit the School throughout the year.
  • Resources to support students in making decisions for the future
  • Work experience opportunities (negotiated in consultation with the student’s tutor, Careers and Pathways Advisors and Head of Clemes)
  • Booking details to make an appointment with Trish Menadue or Pete Gibson - Careers & Pathways Advisors for 2023

Clemes students are encouraged to link into the Pathways calendar and to read the fortnightly newsletter.
