Sustainability at St Joseph's

SUSTAINABILITY AT ST JOSEPHS

Our School is Becoming ResourceSmart! This year our school is continuing to take action towards environmental sustainability through a Victorian Government initiative called ResourceSmart Schools.

ResourceSmart Schools is a program that helps our school embed sustainability in everything we do. Working in partnership with students, staff and the broader community the aim is to reduce our resource use by reducing waste, water and energy consumption along with promoting biodiversity within our school.

We are working with CERES Environment Park to work through modules related to Core Sustainability Practices, Waste, Energy, Water and Biodiversity.

Our Grade 6 Sustainability Leaders will be keeping you up to date in our newsletters on our sustainability journey and along with a few tips and tricks for improving your own households sustainability too!

We can’t wait to share our achievements with you and hope you will join us in helping our school reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a sustainable future for all.

If you wish to contribute further we are also looking for parent volunteers who have an interest or expertise in gardening/sustainability to join our Sustainability Green Team.
