MS MARIA SALVO - CURRICULUM LEADER LANGUAGES

St Mary MacKillop College celebrated Languages Week this week.

 

Students participated in language based activities such as decorating the Red Court Area to promote the beginning of Languages Week.

Tuesday lunchtime, many students signed up for Biscuit Decorating in the Food Technology Room. Students designed their biscuits with a creative Italian or Japanese theme.

 

On Wednesday, students could play a variety of games including Bingo and

Thursday lunchtime, Ms Quaife, with the help of Vetaya, conducted an Origami Workshop in the LRC.

 

In class, students in all year levels were introduced to Scratch Art and created beautiful masks and artwork that represented the language they were studying.

Years 7 and 8 students participated in an Education Perfect Competition. Students gained points for the number of questions they answered for their language. Winners with the most questions answered correctly in their language, will be announced at assembly next week.

I would like to thank the Language teachers, and students who assisted in making this week such a success, including Jane Alderuccio, Chiaki Green and the LRC Staff who decorated the LRC for the week.
