TECHNOLOGY WEEK

MS MONIQUE WATT - CURRICULUM LEADER HUMANITIES AND TECHNOLOGY

The short first week of the Term, 26th - 28th April, began with Technology Week at St Mary MacKillop College. Students were invited to participate in various activities to give them a taste of this very diverse domain.

Ms Doherty and the VCE Agriculture students helped facilitate students to create a windowsill herb garden. Many students participated in this activity and will hopefully use their own produce in their future cooking.

Students showed their creativity by doing some chocolate piping in the Food Technology room with Ms Bell. They demonstrated their skills and had a nice little treat to take away with them at the end of the session.

Students also had fun experimenting with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Express with Mr Wood. Fortunately, this software makes it even easier to cut photos out and remove backgrounds so the emphasis was on coming up with clever ideas and combining images to create an interesting, personalised digital artwork.

Mr Scholtens ran the annual WoodWorking Competition. Yet again there was some strong competition among both students and staff, however, Will Olandezos took out the prize for the second year in a row.
