From the Principal

Welcome to Week 11

As we conclude Term 1, I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to all community members for a great first term.  As always, time has flown by and we find ourselves on the cusp of another term's end. Thank you to all who have assisted around the school and supported our community events.

Congratulations to Laylah Ferreira Callipari who won the Easter Raffle and took home a basket of goodies to share with the family. Thank you to the Community Group for organising the prize and to all who bought a ticket.

The building is moving along. The initial civics work is almost complete.  This means cleaning the soil along with levelling and compacting it.  The next stage will be the trenching and framing for a concrete footing pour.  Fingers crossed the rain stays away for the holidays.

With holidays commencing tomorrow afternoon at 3.15p.m., a reminder that we are offering Vacation Care during the break. There has been a lot of interest in the program with quite a few days already at capacity and therefore unavailable.  If you interested in booking your child in and have not yet done so, enquiries should now be directed to the OSHC Team.

Term 2 means the transition to winter uniform. There is a "grace" period of a couple of weeks as the temperatures tend to remain warm.   A reminder that all students should be wearing the correct school uniform at all times.  I appreciate that there are times when things haven't dried  or something has gone missing. On these occasions, please let your child's teacher know.  A reminder that we do have school beanies as part of the uniform, these are great for keeping cold heads warm on a chilly morning.  The addition of a long sleeve sport polo is another great addition to the winter uniform.

I am currently on camp with the Year 5/6 students at Mylor. We are having a great time with the weather being kind. The students (and staff) are engaging in fun filled, challenging activities that are testing the body and mind!

I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable break and look forward to seeing you all again next term.
