Mr. Barclay's Bulletin
A message from the school Principal.
As you may have immediately noticed there is no video this week. In looking at the data from YouTube, views of the Principal Updates/Bulletins are minimal, as they take a little time to develop, I'll be reverting back to good old text!
I want to start by acknowledging the wonderful efforts of our school captains, Seb, Ivy, Myah and Henry, for their leadership throughout this term. Their willingness to assist, help, support, and step up when required has been outstanding. Of note was their willingness to lead our ANZAC Day Ceremony on the very first day of this term at short notice. They are an amazing bunch of individuals and even more amazing when they're working together!
In continuing with the acknowledgements - Mrs. Rowena Weller! In backfilling Mr. McKinnis whilst he is on leave - and who is set to return next week - Mrs. Weller has been an absolute star in the Assistant Principal role over the last 3 weeks. Her flexibility, initiative and like our school captains, willingness to just 'get things done' has been sensational and I personally am very grateful to Mrs. Weller for her efforts throughout the past few weeks.
Although this has been shared with our school community before, below I have shared our MTSWS - Multi Tiered System of Wellbeing Supports, as well as our School Wide Approach to Behaviour Intervention. The first document outlines the supports we have in place to ensure the wellbeing and safety of all of our students at one time. The second document highlights the approaches we as a staff collectively and consistently take when intervening with students who are not meeting our PBS Matrix expectations for whatever reason. We have been, and are, continuing to work extremely hard as a staff to ensure that our students are safe, supported, and that their wellbeing is looked after. This week our staff had 2 Professional Learning sessions from the Resilience Project highlighting the importance we should be placing each and every day on being grateful, empathetic, and demonstrating mindfulness. Visit our wellbeing page for more information.
As always - please read through the newsletter and the items that are specific to you. We have a LOT of things coming up in the next few weeks and need our families to be aware of these items - one of which I will specifically mention being a pupil free day on Friday 2nd June. This is Professional Practice Day for Teaching Staff.
Thank you, have a great weekend and hopefully I see a few of you at the working bee on Saturday!
Regards,
Corrie.
