Gardening
We hit the jackpot today as we harvested Jerusalem artichokes!
Jerusalem artichokes, or sunchokes are part of the sunflower family. They grow a delicious tuber which can be baked like a potato.
Come and get some at the Carer givers Day BBQ next Friday 12th May.
This Thursday, May 11 we are looking forward to an incursion with Botanic Gardens Learning Facilitators, along with our new groundskeeper, Ian!
Funded through a Junior Landcare grant, the incursion will include a range of 30-minute workshops led by experienced facilitators, including:
Art in Nature
Seed propagation
Citizen Science and Bushfoods (First Nations led)
Planting out our Woi Wurrung Garden on Hutton Street (First Nations led)
The incursion is free of charge for families.
Please reach out to Emily via the office if you would like to be involved.
We are also looking forward to our Term 2 Working Bee this Saturday! Hope to see you there.
