Class 5/6 Steiner–Celebrating Learning
Ancient Babylon and the story of Gilgamesh
Students have learnt about the great cities of Mesopotamia and all of the amazing things that the people of Babylon did, as well as the great things they made. Students heard stories of Gilgamesh, how Babylonians told the time, the way that they recorded their information on clay tablets, and built tall towers to the sky. Some images of their maps and class work alongside some thoughts of theirs.
Daisy says “It’s really cool and good, I can’t wait to learn more. I particularly liked the Gilgamesh story and learning that the Babylonians read the stars.”.
Mayla says “I liked it and I can’t wait to learn more… sometimes it was boring, but I enjoyed today’s drawing of Gilgamesh.”.
Lexi says “It’s really cool that we get to learn about different people and places, and I can’t wait to learn more about other peoples and places.”.
Wolfie says “I think I enjoyed this Main Lesson a lot, I particularly liked how when Gilgamesh became friends with Eabani he learnt to rule in a gentle way”.
Teresa says “I liked how the stories are very interesting and very different to other ones we have heard”.
Gabe says “I liked the towers and inventions, such as clay tablet writing and the different ways they were able to tell the time”.
