Year 9 Psychological Science

Last week, Year 9 science students dissected a sheep's brain in science class to study the brain's anatomy and its functions. The students worked carefully in groups to examine the brain and identify the various parts and structures, including the cerebrum, cerebellum and brainstem. The dissection helped the students to gain a deeper understanding of the brain and the importance of careful observation and scientific inquiry.

Year 9 Chemistry

Year 9 students continue their investigations into chemical sciences, looking into phenomena such as metal modification through heat treatment and investigative blacksmithing as well as performing Exothermic chemical reactions that release surprising bursts of heat.

Year 10 Chemistry and STEM

Year 10 Students extend their chemistry knowledge from Year 9 by investigating how the reactivity of different elements correlates with their position on the periodic table. How do metals react when exposed to different liquids? How do metals react with one another?

On the other hand, STEM students are hard at work constructing themed race tracks for robotic vehicles complete with custom-made programming.

Open Night!

Student volunteers and science teachers alike have been hard at work to demonstrate secondary school science and all its flair to visiting parents and (hopefully) up-and-coming new generation of Cheltenham scientists. From optical illusions to dissections and wacky physics phenomena, all facets of science have been put on a full and spectacular display.
