Year 11 Media - Unit 1 - Representation

A representation is a constructed media text. Representations can take many forms, including radio segments, newspaper articles, photographs, films, television programs, and television news segments. Everything we see in advertising, and stories in our daily newspapers and magazines is someone else’s interpretation of reality. Someone has constructed these media forms to deliver a desired message. Students have been experimenting with "stereotypes" and "representations" using media codes and conventions.

Year 12 Media

The Year 12 media students explored screen culture on their excursion to ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) to see the VCE Season of Excellence - Top Screen Films on Friday 28th April.

They viewed the 15 finalist films and participated in a Q&A session with three of the filmmakers. The experience was inspiring and highlighted the possibilities for media production.

Students were also able to view the portfolios of all 15 finalists. This opportunity demonstrated the detailed exploration that students undertake in units 3 & 4 to achieve their vision.

A  great day was had by all.
