Principals Report

Ms Stephanie Scott

Welcome to Term 2!

Welcome to our first newsletter for the term! I hope you like our new newsletter format, which is more online friendly!

It was wonderful to see so many of our students represent our school at the Anzac March, as well as the Dawn Service. A big thank you to Mr Ash Pitkin, who organised the school representation and service at school, as well as all the staff members who joined in the march. Just one of the many moments where I am so proud to be principal!

I am tremendously excited about our new High Potential and Performance program. Ms Olivia Parker, an excellent classroom operator, is working with a group of identified students in 7 - 10, on an extension and enrichment program. One of the activities is featured in this edition and we will definitely be reporting on future ones.

Congratulations to our 11 swimmers who have been representing us at the CHS state swimming championships this week! To have 11 swimmers reach this level is a tremendous achievement, and one of the many examples where we punch well above our weight! Thank you to Mrs Karen Cooper for attending and supervising this.

Mrs Cooper has been tremendously busy, not only with the swimming, but also organising for 5 of our hospitality students to be a part of the Rural Students Cafe, at the Sydney Royal Easter show. This was an amazing opportunity for our students, who are all to be congratulated for their enthusiasm and efforts. Again a special thank you to Mrs Cooper - who gave time in her holidays to give students this experience.

Well done to our MC room 8 students who are participating in the senior festival this month. On Wednesday they joined in the School of Arts photography and film exhibition and they are looking forward to joining in the Bowling and Bingo, next week. Thank you to Ms Zoe Olive for initiating this. We are looking forward to Grandparents Day later in the term. There are more examples of community involvement and volunteering in this edition, with our Yr 12's helping at the Easter Hunt, and students refereeing at the primary school.

We are looking forward to our Athletics Carnival next Friday, hopefully it will be a fine day! We would love to see families there!
