Principal’s Message 

Remote and Flexible Learning 2.0 

Now that we have completed the third week of Remote and Flexible Learning 2.0 we are able to report the results of the last survey of parents. School Leadership has analyzed the survey results and can report that 45% of students felt relaxed and 35% felt calm about returning to Remote Learning 2.0. 

How long does it take for student to complete their daily tasks? 

40% 2-3 hours, 36% 1-2 hours,13% more than 3 hours, 11% less than 1 hour 

57 % Parents believe their child was given ‘just the right amount of work’ where 40% thought their child received ‘too little’. 

52% of parents feel their child can complete their work independently. 

16 % of children don’t understand what to do and 22% need the assistance of their parent to help with their work. 

92% of parents provided a positive response to the live Webex teacher sessions. 

97% of parents felt their child was able to follow the daily schedule. 

Strategies suggested by parents for Remote Learning 2.0. 

• A timer/alarm for the students to notify them with their Webex session 

• Include Physical activities each day to complete - Skipping program 

• Print out schedule/timetable  Feedback - individual, sharing of students work, reflecting on others and self. 

Parents suggestions. 

• Loving live Webex lessons, Fantastic. 

• Physical activities daily to be included - need student to stay active, get off their screens. (skipping) • Additional tasks - teachers to emphasize this. Mini Project, Reading Log, Reading online, Spelling words 

• Feedback - Comments on work is very important to parents - How should this be done? • Written, audio, live - individual feedback. 

• Work too easy, more work needed. 

• Thank you to all teachers for their effort. 

• Webex sessions have been great and allows the students to feel connected to their peers and teacher. 

Year Level newsletters are sent out each Friday detailing the students’ week ahead including the curriculum focus, student schedule and reminders.
