OLNA RESULTS

Parents of students in Years 10, 11 and 12 who need to complete one or more components in Round 2 of the Online Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) later this year have been notified via email.

The OLNA Reports for all students have been uploaded on SEQTA today for all students and parents to access.

YEAR 10 PARENT INFORMATION EVENING

The Year 10 Parent Information Evening was held on Tuesday 10 May. Parents and students who were unable to attend can watch a video of the evening HERE.

YEAR 10 EXAMINATIONS

The Year 10 Examination Timetable will be published next week.

YEARS 11 AND 12 EXAMINATIONS

Years 11 and 12 Examinations commence on Monday 30 May and conclude on Monday 13 June. Examination timetables have been published and are available below.

UPDATE ON COLLEGE ASSESSMENT GUIDELINES (PROCEDURES FOR MISSED ASSESSMENTS)

As a result of the recent escalation of student absence and missed assessments due to COVID-19, the College has made a decision to make some short term changes to the College Assessment Guidelines. The following changes will apply until further notice.

All Parents

Given the number of forced absences at school at the present time, the College is trying to be as flexible and compassionate as possible, allowing students, where possible, to complete assessments upon their return to the College. Sometimes, this may not be possible as the assessment may have been returned to the class. In such circumstances, the student will receive a standardised mark for the missed assessment. This mark is calculated at the end of the semester and again at the end of the year and takes into account all of the students' results throughout the year. I believe it is important to keep things in perspective, and always trying encourage and reassure our students.

Only Years 8 to 12

Students who are feeling unwell should not attend school to complete an assessment; this particularly applies to students who may be experiencing a sore throat, cough and/or respiratory symptoms.
Parents are requested to email their Assistant Deputy Principal (ADP) with an explanation of why their child has missed the assessment.
A student who misses an assessment is expected to complete a catch up assessment on their first day back to the College, where possible. Students must complete the catch up assessments within 3 school days of returning to the College. However, the College understands that some students with 3 or more assessments may require a few more days to complete the missed assessments. If you have any queries about this process, please contact your ADP.
The mark (result) achieved by the student for the catch up assessment will count toward the calculation of the student’s final mark and grade.
The teacher may change questions in the catch up assessment to protect the validity of the missed assessment.
Catch up assessments are conducted each day at 8:00am in MLC9 (the Old Gym (opposite Entry to Koort Centre)

NAPLAN: YEARS 7 AND 9

VERY IMPORTANT

The College is aware of student absences in Years 7 and 9 and will implement catch up NAPLAN tests between Wednesday 18 May and Friday 20 May. More information will be provided to parents of students in Years 7 and 9 early next week.
