DROMANA PRESENTS CHICAGO 'HIGH SCHOOL EDITION'

Thank you to all who came to see Dromana College's production of Chicago (High School Edition)!

Approximately 80 students were involved in the production and performed in three shows over the 8th and 9th June 2022 at the Frankston Arts Centre. We finished with a sold-out closing night and the students, staff and crew were so overwhelmed by the support from the school community with over 1000 tickets sold. It was a wonderful experience for all!

It was great to have students in the backstage crew, lighting crew and pit orchestra, as well as those who performed on the stage.

We'd like to thank StarLite Productions for their incredible work throughout the week, and the Frankston Arts Centre team for being so welcoming and helpful.

Thanks also to the Dromana staff, friends and family involved for all the late nights, rehearsals and behind the scenes work across the last six months that made this show possible.

A special thanks must go to the Performing Arts and Music staff, for the dedication and time they spent which allowed the students to have such a fantastic experience.

We are incredibly proud of the efforts of the wonderful Dromana students, and we would like to commend them for all that they have achieved.

PERFORMING ARTS

This term was a busy one for Performing Arts! Along with our production of Chicago, the VCE Dance, Drama and Music Performance Evenings took place. Each concert was the culmination of five months of hard work and preparation by the Year 11 and 12 Performing Arts students. The concerts doubled as the students’ final performance assessment for Semester 1 and were an opportunity to showcase their performance repertoire in front of friends, family and staff. Each concert was a great success, and the attendance was impressive and supportive of the College and the students involved. The students performed exceptionally well and were pleased to be able to have the opportunity to perform live and share their hard work. Congratulations to all that were involved!

VISUAL ARTS

Over the past few weeks, back in the art classroom, our Junior Arts classes have been busy working on creating a variety of artworks to display in the Junior Art Show. Visual Arts classes have been sculpting animals in clay and modroc, while others have been busily painting Impressionist style works and still life artworks, and creating 2-point perspective collage houses. In Visual Communication Design, Year 9 students have been constructing creative interior design models digitally and manually as well as creating some logo designs.

ARTS SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT

The Arts team is excited to announce the Junior Art Show will be held in the library on Wednesday 27th of July from 5:00pm – 6:00pm. We hope to see you all there.
