Principal's Message

Pauline Dinale

Dear St Margaret Mary’s Parents and Carers,

World Environment Day

St Margaret Mary's students have joined millions of people around the world to celebrate World Environment Day. Our school embraced this year's theme of #OnlyOneEarth to draw attention to this pressing environmental concern and how we can all do our part.

The students drew HOPE butterflies which are displayed at New South Wales Parliament House. Students were invited to 'add their wings' to the HOPE butterfly colony using tracing paper and mixed media.

Over 1000 HOPE Butterflies are in the Fountain Court of New South Wales Parliament House. These rare and endangered HOPE Butterflies created and curated by Nick Baldas represent hundreds of primary and secondary school children and artists from within New South Wales. Our school leaders Mika and Charlie met with Nick and the leaders from St Anthony's, Clovelly.

Exhibition Dates: 1 to 23 June 2022

Fountain Court – New South Wales Parliament House - 6 Macquarie Street Sydney

Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm

OPEN DAY - Wednesday 8th June between 9.00-11.00am

Why should parents visit school?

Classroom visits allow parents to experience and understand what is happening in their children's classrooms. Classroom visits serve to strengthen the bond and consistency between home and school, families and teachers.

All welcome.

Tell Them From Me Survey (TTFM)

We are inviting all teachers, parents and Year 4-6 students to participate in the ‘Tell Them From Me’ survey. Tell Them From Me is an online survey system devised by The Learning Bar that helps schools capture the views of students, teachers and parents. The surveys are an important part of our whole school evaluation and planning process.

We would like to invite you to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. As we value the role of parents and carers within our school community we would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning, engagement, wellbeing and effective teaching practices. The survey is designed to measure, assess and report insights at the school and system levels.

The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Please access the parent survey on your computer or mobile device using the following URL http://tellthemfromme.com/parent

We would appreciate it if you could please take the time to fill out this survey. We look forward to your feedback. If you are unable to complete the survey at home we will be providing opportunities to complete the survey at school. We would like as many parents as possible to complete the survey. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

MANDARIN LESSONS

St Margaret Mary's Catholic Primary School

As part of our @MegGlobalEd #Mandarin language & culture program, our students learn about #QingMing Festival – which is unlike anything we celebrate in Western Society. Learning about other holidays is how we create #interculturalunderstanding and turn students into #GlobalCitizens!

Looking forward to seeing you at the Family Mass this Sunday.

God Bless you and your families.
